Our Preschool Day
Bright Skies International School operates from Monday to Friday (excluding holidays) according to a flexible schedule that meets young children’s concentration levels and interests. The formal start of the school day is 9 a.m. and the morning is spent engaging in British Curriculum theme-based and child-directed activities, English language Circle Times and teacher-led curriculum based activities, snack, outdoor play and/or indoor Physical Education lessons. At 12 p.m., half day dismissals take place and classes are timetabled to have lunch in the dining area.
Following lunch, Quiet Time takes place across the school.
All children in the Toddler, Nursery and Kindergarten classes are encouraged to have a rest or nap, while the Reception and Year One children are invited to engage in relaxing play activities of their choice from 1- 1.30 p.m. when our English, Mandarin or French programme of activities commence for all age levels.
At 2 p.m. snack is served and our afternoon activities continue until the end of the school day at 3 p.m.
*In accordance with the Thai Education Ministry’s directives, Thai lessons are held several times per week for our preschool pupils.
Mealtimes: A Healthy Balance of Asian & Western Food
The kindergarten’s kitchen provides two light snacks of milk, water and healthy finger foods during the school day.
Similarly, fresh drinking water is available at all times during the school day.
Snack is served in our dining area at approximately 10 a.m. and in the afternoons at approximately 2 p.m.
The kitchen provides a balanced lunch of Western/Asian food for full day pupils. We offer vegetarian meal options and we also do our best to cater for any special dietary or allergy requirements children may have.
Children are invited to enjoy their lunch in our canteen each day. We encourage children to eat independently and try a portion of everything on their plates. We also encourage all children to eat in a polite and sociable manner. Menu samples are available from the administration office.
