Kindergarten classes at Bright Skies
Our Kindergarten level pupils explore seven areas of learning via cross-curricular topics, teacher-led activities and child-directed play. In addition, Kindergarten pupils study a letter of the alphabet each week; becoming familiar with its sound and extending their vocabulary of words that begin with the particular letter sound.
By the end of the year we hope our preschool children will be able to make a good attempt to write their names, name most letters of the alphabet, and correctly make their corresponding sounds, count to 20 and recognise and write some numbers to 20.
The class follows the Foundation Stage Curriculum, based on the National Curriculum of England’s Early Learning Goals. The Early Years Curriculum serves as a thorough preparation for progression into the Reception Class. The English Years Foundation Stage Curriculum (EYFS) defines Early Learning Goals in seven areas of learning. These are:
National Curriculum of England’s Early Learning Areas
- Personal, Social and Emotional Development

- Communication and Language Development
- Physical Development
- Literacy
- Mathematics
- Understanding the World
- Expressive Arts and Design
English, Japanese or Mandarin afternoon classes
In keeping with our preschool’s global aims and philosophy, we value and place a balanced emphasis on the acquisition of a second language. Children are offered the option of enrolling in an English full day programme or studying Japanese or Mandarin in the afternoons.
Thai
As directed by the Thai Ministry of Education, Thai language and cultural lessons will also be held one time a week for all students.
